Our Adoption Story: Bringing Love Home

At CatRangers, every adoption is more than just paperwork — it’s the beginning of a lifelong love story.

We know that adopting a cat isn’t just about finding a pet — it’s about welcoming a new family member. That’s why our adoption process is designed with one goal in mind: to create the best possible match between you and one of our rescued kitties, ensuring a forever home where love can grow.

Step 1: Start With the Pre-Adoption Application

Your journey begins by filling out our online Pre-Adoption Application. This helps us get to know you and what kind of feline companion would best fit your home and lifestyle.

Step 2: Meet Your Adoption Counselor

Once we receive your form, one of our dedicated adoption counselors will reach out to chat with you. They’ll answer any questions you have, talk through the adoption process, and help you prepare for your new furry friend.

Helpful tip: If you have other pets, please check with your veterinarian to confirm that they’re up to date on vaccines and spayed or neutered — this is an important part of our review process.

Step 3: A Virtual Home Visit

Before your adoption is finalized, we’ll do a virtual walk-through of your home to ensure it's a safe and welcoming space for your new cat. We’ll help you spot potential hazards (like poisonous plants or loose cords) and offer tips on how to make the transition easier for both you and your new feline.

Step 4: Final Steps & Adoption Fee

Once approved, and after the adoption fee is paid, your chosen kitty will be reserved just for you. We occasionally receive multiple applications for the same cat, so the process moves forward only when the fee is confirmed and all steps are completed.

Your adoption fee includes:

  • FIV/FeLV testing
  • FVRCP and rabies vaccinations
  • Flea and parasite treatments
  • Spay/neuter surgery
  • Microchipping

A Few Important Notes:

  • While we generally adopt to homes within a 2-hour radius, we may consider longer-distance adoptions in special cases — particularly for adult cats already spayed/neutered.
  • Please authorize your vet to speak with our team if you have one.
  • Renters, please notify your landlord that CatRangers may call to confirm pets are allowed.

The more detail you can share about your experience and home environment, the easier it is for us to find the perfect match for you.
